I attended a school called Sistema in which I was the Diane Court. I was regarded as a genius for acing almost every test, but I've never allowed myself to believe that. It's like in sports, if you cling onto that to feel good about yourself, one day you bump into someone more talented than you and it'll hurt your ego. So my answer to the life test was that it was safer to see myself as an underachiever. And as I moved up, I gradually started to enjoy music more than studying, becoming Lloyd Dobler.
That's how, not much later, I was given a Brain to achieve what I was hopelessly unable, since no smartness I could ever have naturally would be sufficient.
